NYC 9-YA-author booksigning on 7/25--with pics!

The 9-author YA booksigning today in NYC was a freaking BLAST. I got to meet SO many awesomesauce debs--Heather Duffy-Stone, Sarah MacLean, Sarah Cross, Mandy Hubbard, Erin Dionne, Shani Petroff, and Michelle Zink. Plus, there were other authors and bloggers present--it was a lot of fun! I'm thrilled I got to go on this NYC trip.

Here are some pictures from the signing, if you're interested:

This was the flier they put up on the window of the bookstore. Isn't it cute?!

Here's the shelf with the books displayed nicely--check out all those fabulous debs!

Lauren Barnholdt, Heather Duffy-Stone, and Sarah MacLean.

Mandy Hubbard, Erin Dionne, and Julie Linker.

Michelle Zink and Mari Mancusi.

From left to right: Laura Barnholdt, Heather Duffy-Stone, Sarah MacLean, Sarah Cross, Mandy Hubbard, Erin Dionne, Julie Linker, and Michelle Zink.

People were waiting in line to get books signed. I bought (or brought) a copy of every deb book on the panel and got them all signed. They put some really funny signatures in them for me, which was awesome.

Shani Petroff and Rhonda Stapleton--we didn't sign (not yet! LOL), but were glad to cheer our fellow debs on! Plus, I brought my ARC of Stupid Cupid and showed it around a little, which I admit was really fun.

Debs Love Librarians Offical Entry Post

Debs do indeed love librarians, and we know that times are tough. Many libraries hare having their budgets cut meaning fewer staff, fewer books, and less fun stuff. We can't come work for you (unless your library is in Hawaii and you are willing to foot the bill for about 50 plane tickets -- then we will come work for you!). We can, however, give you books and fun stuff! We have put together a bag of fun and love for you and your patrons!

Here's the bag:

And here's what's inside:

An ARC of:

    * Fortune's Folly by Deva Fagan -- autographed!
    * Silver Phoenix by Cindy Pon
    * Secrets of Truth & Beauty by Megan Frazer -- autographed!
    * Lipstick Apology by Jennifer Jabaley

The Actual In-Print Book of:

    * Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies by Erin Dionne, with postcards!
    * Shadowed Summer by Saundra Mitchell, with bookmarks!

In addition to Saundra's bookmarks, we have some from:

    * Neesha Meminger, author of Shine, Coconut Moon
    * Cheryl Renee Herbsman, author of Breathing

Who is eligible?
Librarians and library workers who work with children -- school, public, development centers, wherever. The prize will be sent to you at your library, which must be in the United States or Canada. We do of course love foreign librarians, too, but the cost of postage for such a package is scary.
Our hope is that you will read the books, maybe add them to your collection, or give them and the ARCs away as prizes. Spread the love!
Are you a librarian-in-training? Yes, you, too can enter. And once you get that fabulous job, bring the books with you! Plus all your classmates will be so jealous of the super cool tote.

How to enter:
Post a comment below that answers the following question:
What topic would you really like to see a book about, either fiction or nonfiction? You've got the ear of a whole crowd of writers here -- tell us what is missing from your collection!
You can comment as many times as you want, but only one comment per person will be counted. The winner will be randomly selected.
If you aren't a LJ user, be sure to include your email so we can contact you and let you know you won.

Forgotten important detail: Entries will be accepted up until Friday night at 11:59 pm!

The contest is officially over! Thank you all for entering. I am going to leave the comments open because I think they are interesting. If you want to add to the wishlist, please feel free to continue commenting.

Debs Love Librarians

Hello Watchers!

Are you a librarian? Do you know one? Well, Debs do in fact love librarians and so we are going to have a special contest just for them! Starting tomorrow, librarians should come to the Debs community and enter to win a fabulous prize. Entries will close on Friday night at 11:59, and the winner will be announced on Saturday.

What can librarians win? Take a look:

Why yes, that is a bright and shiny bag from the Debs Shop! But wait, there's more! The bag is stuffed with goodies from the Debs. Just what is inside? You'll have to wait until Monday to find out, but here's a peek:

So spread the word and come back tomorrow for all the details!

Trick or Treat with Debut 2009

You know how it works, my friends- put on a costume and say trick or treat, and you'll be rewarded with something scary, or sweet, or both! (In other words, put on a costume in your icon and leave a comment saying Trick or Treat, and I'll drop something in your virtual goodie bag. :))

And happy hallowe'en, from [info]debut2009!

DebsMix II: Hardcore Awesome

Good morning, metro LJ listeners, and welcome to WDEB, your all day station for full-time awesome. Weather today is moderately sunny with a chance of chat, and traffic is moving smoothly, so expect no delays. Later in the show, we're going to be talking to a team of demon-hunting brothers, and at the top of next hour, Miss Husky Peach joins us for a look behind the tiara.

Intern Blake is going to be spinning some mp3s for us this afternoon, but let's go ahead and get to your main morning event, Drive Time Dedications. We have twenty nine songs in a row with no commercial interruptions, brought to you by Jessee's Tool and Die, Viola's Lamp Service, and the YMCA, who's been bringing you 20 boy summers since 1844.

Less talking, more rocking, this is Hardcore Awesome from 100.9FM WDEB- the feast of awesome.
